NEW!
Jackson School District Curriculum Online

We are proud to announce the launch of a new website that has a searchable database of the approved curriculum in the Jackson School District.

This resource, known as the
Rubicon Atlas Curriculum Program, provides public access to our most up-to-date curriculum, including overviews of content by grade level, unit summaries and the essential questions students are expected to be able to answer upon completion of each unit.

To get started, click on the icon above. Select the “Browse’’ tab to see a list of courses, or begin searching by grade and subject on your own.

For now, the site features our complete curriculum in the areas of English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Physical Education and Health and World Language. This site will be a living database that will be updated as we update our curriculum to be fully aligned with state standards. (e.g. Science, Music, Art, Business, Technology).

We are proud of our curriculum and we hope you will enjoy being able to take a first-hand look at all the ways we strive to help students excel.

REMINDER: PARCC Testing will begin May 16

During the month of May, our students will again be taking the PARCC state assessments. We encourage you to visit the district’s “Understanding Assessments and Grading’’ resource page, which has a host of information about the PARCC and other assessments – including:

This page also includes our recent and upcoming grading and report card changes. The PARCC testing dates and other testing dates are also available on the calendars on our district and school websites.

As I’m sure you are aware, a child will perform more successfully on a test if he/she has proper rest, good nutrition, and arrives to school on time. Your special attention to these areas will help ensure your child has his or her best chance for success.

Does Your Child Want to Play a Sport in Middle School or High School Next Year?

Check out the district website or our school website for information about Sports Physicals, which will be held at Jackson Liberty High School from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the following dates: Wednesday, June 1 for students attending Jackson Liberty High School or McAuliffe Middle School; and Monday, June 6 for students attending Jackson Memorial High School or Goetz Middle School.

Parents are welcome to have their family doctor do their child's physical. If you opt to do this, please make sure the completed physical packet is submitted to the middle school school or high school nurse by June 6th. You must sign up for a time slot by filling out our Physical Registration Form online. You will need to be signed in to your child's district Google account to complete this registration.
